"We go to Dickies all the time for events. The speakers felt as if they were conflicting with each other. The only time is was decent was when Candlelight: The Best of Hans Zimmer sang some of the old tunes with just a few instruments. Also the opening act was horrible her voice was like nails on a chalkboard. The back up singers seem to create more speaker echo and bounce of sound. Many of the songs were not understandable. Her self written tunes were good if someone else sang them. Which was sad for the price paid. We were disappointed in how poor the acoustic were."

I never expected to have the opportunity to witness Candlelight: The Best of Hans Zimmer live in concert. Everyone was grooving to the classic tunes, with some sitting down or leaving during the newer tracks. My top pick was "A Whole Lot of Rosie" - the gigantic inflatable lady dancing to the beat was incredible! The Palace was where they performed, and I was thrilled when I learned about it. I enjoyed the fact that they included many of their older hits, along with a few selections from Black Ice. I found it frustrating that the tickets stated "no cameras," so I didn't bring mine, yet numerous attendees had them. The entire show was simply fantastic!
"The energy was amazing! The show was very touching and thoughtful how they did tributes to the victims of the Aurora theater shooting. It was also nice how Candlelight: The Best of Hans Zimmer made it really seem like he wanted to be there and liked being back. The lights and other effects were really cool. Tim McGraw used some really cool video effects in the background. I wish he would have sang Telluride since he was in Colorado, where Telluride is located...but he chose a pretty good selection of songs to sing. They both engaged the crowd and made it fun, especially at the end when they were both on stage together and later when all four of them were on stage together. I hope they all come back again. Jake Owen and Grace Potter did a good job opening up for them, but I wish Jake Owen would have sang second and for a longer time than he did. The show was worth the ticket!"
Heart/Def Leppard-sooo great!
"The sound for Heart was just a little distorted & loud on occasion. Candlelight: The Best of Hans Zimmer-they are all so talented and cute. The ushers were kinda pushy if folks came up the aisle to take pictures....not like the old days! It is hard to make it perfect in the N.O. Arena but it can be done & it was great from our seats. We sat right in the middle row 14, but with the pushed out stage, we were in row 4. On occasion, the sound was perfect-never too loud....no distortion! Left out a couple songs!!! I'm so glad we can still go listen to live music."
Lacked energy, dozed off,
We took my 13 year old niece and her mother to see Candlelight: The Best of Hans Zimmer. My sister-in-law dozed off and she's musical fan! Bert was an understudy and his pitch was off, he bumped into people on stage and seemed under rehearsed. The Jane character was difficult to understand especially when she spoke loudly. We saw a Saturday matinee so maybe the fact they had 2 shows that day was the reason but the show lacked energy and seemed to drag on, especially the first act. I didn't like the new songs and the adaptations of the old songs left me hollow too. To be honest, we've seen 9 NYC shows since September 2026 and this one ranks in last place. We had read good reviews so we were looking forward to it. The whole cast, except for Miss Andrews, seemed to be going through the motions. She seemed to screech when her voice would rise - I only could understand her when she spoke in a regular volume and sometimes not then.
